Novice piano selection

I see that many beginners hope to gain some experience in buying and selecting a piano. Here, I would like to share my personal experience. I hope all new piano enthusiasts will avoid taking detours.

Buying a piano is too difficult, it's not entirely a matter of business integrity, the key is actually one's own appreciation. Learning piano for one year and five years will have vastly different answers about what a good piano is and what kind of piano one wants. It's difficult to sell a qin if you're not satisfied after buying it. It's not just a piece of clothing, it's okay to throw it away when it gets old in a few years. Qin belongs to the category of "durable consumer goods". Even without considering the issue of money, looking at a dissatisfied Qin every day can be very frustrating and seriously affect one's attitude towards practicing.

So be cautious when buying a piano, unless your uncle is a band musician, other people's opinions can only be considered.

A more reliable method: For those who have just learned to play the piano, especially as adults with uncertain future prospects, buying a piano should not exceed 500 yuan. There are many shops on Jinling Road where the owner can play it for you, and the sound can be tolerated, especially for high pitched positions where the sound is not too hoarse. If you want to kill a chicken with one string, you won't get goosebumps. Just go to a few shops and compare them. At this time, when choosing a piano, the main consideration is not to have too negative an impact on the environment, as long as neighbors do not protest. It's not a pity to throw away or give away this piano in the future.

If you are still working hard after playing the piano for three years, you can consider changing to a new one, such as one that costs 3-5 thousand yuan (based on the current CPI level), or a second-hand piano that someone else has practiced. The advantage is that the sound is stable, and what you hear now will also be heard in the future, so you don't have to worry about major changes (changes have two directions, but unfortunately, the chances of getting better and winning the lottery are similar for me and other qin players).

If you have been playing the qin for 5 years and still refuse to abandon it, you can consider choosing a qin that costs more than 20000 yuan (based on the current CPI level). At that time, if you have the ability to choose a qin that costs 50000 to 100000 yuan, it is also possible. It is best to choose an old qin, for the same reasons as above. There is a slight difference in the concept between an old qin and a second-hand qin, please understand slowly. That qin will probably accompany you for a lifetime.

Adults who learn to play the piano often have the idea that we are not young and have some economic autonomy. We hope to have a good voice when practicing the piano and turn it into a pleasure. Although the idea is good, objective laws are difficult to resist and often end up being unrealistic. Being deceived doesn't necessarily mean being deceived, because you don't know what a good voice is or what you need. I believe anyone who has experienced it will have some experience.

Also, when learning to play the piano, it is important to make more friends and watch the instrument, whether it is from friends or from a store. By watching and comparing more, one can improve their discernment ability.
